It's a Small, Small World: UAE PM (hey didn't they just evict Canada from an airfield over a commercial squabble?) is Largest Shareholder of LSE

If the merger of the Toronto and London stock exchanges goes through, the largest shareholder of the new entity won’t be a Canadian or a Brit. It will be Sheik Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the billionaire ruler of Dubai who loves racehorses and giant yachts and once dreamed of turning his tiny emirate into a world financial centre.

Surprise surprise... Sheik Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum is not only the head honcho of Dubai, he also happens to be the Prime Minister of the UAE which a few weeks ago booted Canada from an airbase on its territory ltierally right out from under External Affairs Minister Peter McKay, who was enroute to land there to visit our troops... ...all to Canadian Prime Minister Harper's significant embarrassment...

YEAH! we really need this guy controlling the TSX.

And once our intrepid media and CSIS and the RCMP connect the dots it will be interesting to see the reaction of Stephen "who me hold a grudge?" Harper.

LOL

The new world order: one degree of separation.

As soon as they called it a "merger" you knew for sure it would be a snow job.
