Enbridge Submits Application for Northern Gateway Pipeline to Kitimat, B.C.

Enbridge filed the environmental application yesterday with the National Energy Board for the proposed 1,172-kilometer, $5.5 billion Northern Gateway pipeline projected to run from Edmonton to the B.C. coastal town of Kitimat.

The pipeline would carry about 550,000 barrels of crude oil a day from Edmonton to the Pacific Ocean port for export. This pipeline is very similar in length, although in a much different situation, as the Mackenzie Valley gas pipeline, which received a measure of approval from a federal review panel in Dec. '09.

Watch video to understand why BP is burying the problem with poisonous detergents aka "dispersants" rather than employing oil water separators

Dirty oil tankers from China, are not wanted on our beautiful, pristine coast. I don't give a dam, whether the dirty tankers have 5 hulls. If one hull can smash, so can two. That sea is dangerous and wild weather, through the fall and winter. The other concern, is they want to drill off shore gas and oil wells. There are earthquakes, all over that area. When the spills of the tankers, and/or the well explosions happen. BC will have been totally demolished. Campbell, Hansen and the BC Liberals, have financially ruined this province, their pollution, will then, destroy, the little bit of province that will be left. Enbridge, can carry the oil to China, in jam cans, for all we care, just keep the dirty oil tankers and wells, off our coast.
